Dear Friends,
A big
thanks to all the amazing people who shared the “Celebrate” experience with
us in the north west. Some comments people made: “…warm and friendly...” and an “…enjoyable and exhilarating experience ...” This comment expresses the
feelings of many: “ …something I have taken to heart
and will take time over the next few weeks to reflect on”.

CELEBRATE 2008
Weekends
If you missed this event, but
would like to experience a Celebrate 2008 Weekend, there are still places available at
other venues - Heart of England, Southampton, Brighton & Bristol
|
We have been blessed by the Lord
in many different ways this weekend, but most of all by
people. It has proved that
Celebrate is an experience of God touching our lives and people giving him
permission to do that. Thanks again to all
who served the conference, and a
special thank you to everyone at St. Bede’s who helped to make it so special.
About
half the conference were at Celebrate
for the first time, and we were fortunate to have people joining us from
the Anglican, Methodist and Pentecostal church. One lady even travelled
from Italy for the weekend!

CELEBRATE
seeks to:
Provide an atmosphere of friendship and close
fellowship, thereby promoting a real sense of community for
formation and mission.
Celebrate the Liturgy in the best possible
way for the people present.
Offer the best available teaching, based on
the Scriptures and the teaching documents of the Catholic Church.
Include among those invited as speakers, men/women
from Protestants, Pentecostal and Non-Denominational charismatic
churches/fellowships, so that we benefit from their gifts/experience,
thereby promoting unity among Christians.
Hold to the central truths of the Catholic
faith without emphasising those devotions which are a matter
of personal choice.
Provide spiritually for children, teenagers
and young adults in streams or groups according to age or academic
year.
Show our young people in particular that it
's exciting, fun and challenging to be a Christian today.
Encourage on-going contact and friendship
among those who come to Celebrate events.
Give everyone the freedom to be fully charismatic,
while remaining sensitive to those not coming from this faith
experience.
Always offer Baptism in the Holy Spirit &
Life in the Spirit Seminars.
Use mime, drama and the visual arts to emphasise
the Gospel message.
Encourage creative activities - drama, mime,
art, music.
Invite everyone to participate in lively praise
and worship, and include the exercise of all the gifts of the
Holy Spirit.
Offer personal prayer by trained prayer teams.
Use money raised in the Celebrate Offering
to sponsor individuals, communities, groups and special ministries
in training and development.
Promote an awareness of social, moral, ethical
and justice issues, and provide funds from the Offering for
Christian work in disaster areas.
Support financially and practically Christian
organisations which share a similar vision, and work for renewal
in the church.
