The Pulse (School years 9 and 10)
The
Pulse is run by the Youth Ministry Team "YMT" (the Youth Service for the diocese of Hexham and Newcastle) and is for
young adults in School Years 9 and 10. It's a place to chill out and
meet new people. The YMT was set up at the request of Bishop Ambrose
Griffiths back in 1995. The main purpose is to communicate the Gospel using various creative means to the young.

Activities
Depending on the weather, we may be inside or outside - last year we even
took some of the group into the town of Ilfracombe. All activities
are based on there being a Relevant Message in the Gospel for the Youth of
Today
Sessions. YMT is well-known for its
continuous development of new and creative ways of communicating the Gospel.
We use a variety of means to present the good news, such as: drama,
mime, small group work, music, movement, multimedia (large 14 ft. screen
with video projection, and impressive sound), IT, and preaching. All our
sessions with young people are interactive. This enables them to respond
actively, not feeling preached at, but journeyed with as we explore and unravel
the mysteries of God and life. Plus there'll be guest speakers, live worship and time for intimate prayer.
