of our main speakers - David Wells, Charles Whitehead and Phil
Waine. There's also a wide range of different workshops/seminars
to choose from, plus we’ll have drama from RISE!. Leading the worship mainly
for our liturgies will be Salv Lomanto and Tom Bonard, whilst the main worship
sessions will be led by myself.

A little more about the weekend
It’s going to be very very exciting. We’ve got lots of speakers,
lots of seminars and workshops for people to take part in across all sorts
of different things. We’re very blessed to have Bishop Declan coming to celebrate
Mass with us on the Saturday morning which we’re very excited about, and it’s
going to be really good fun.
It’s a family conference. We cater
for all age ranges. We have streams for the children, through primary streams
and obviously secondary streams as well. We keep them actively involved in
the celebration of the weekend.
And it’s a just chance for a relaxing
weekend together celebrating all that is great about our faith, and maybe
posing a few questions to ourselves about what it is that we
believe, what it is we feel and how
we can move forward in our faith.

About Bristol
and the West Country
|
|
|
Bristol is bursting with life. Whether you are visiting for a few
hours or staying for a fortnight, this exciting city has so much for you
to see and do. From a Catholic perspective, the Celebrate 2008 weekend
at St Bede's College is very close to the oldest church in the area - St
Mary on the Quay. An imposing church with a massive Corinthian portico
stood on the waterfront when it was completed in 1840, hence the name.
The River Frome in front of it was later covered over.
|
The church was built by a movement led by Edward Irving, known as the
Catholic Apostolic Church, but was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church
a few years later. It was then served by Jesuits until a few years ago,
but is now run by Father Michael Cleary & others, of the Society of
the Divine Word (SVD)
