“Seek First His Kingdom” (Matt 6:33 NIV)

Thanks to the Rector, Canon David Oakley we have been invited to hold our Celebrate weekend at St Mary’s College, Oscott. This is the Seminary of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham for the formation of priests and deacons. The historic and beautiful college building was designed by Augustus Pugin and Joseph Potter and completed in 1838. It is built around a central quadrangle in red brick and has a wonderful view overlooking the city of Birmingham. The main talks and Mass will be held in a marquee erected in the extensive grounds and other rooms will be used within the College buildings.

Oscott is a place where those in formation for priesthood deepen their relationship with the Lord and prepare for mission. We would be delighted if you were able to join us for Celebrate Birmingham, and to share in this vision of coming to know the Lord better and to living your own mission in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

 - Canon David Oakley, Rector St Mary’s College, Oscott.

The weekend programme includes 3 main talks, praise and worship, seminars and workshops, Mass, dramas, Adoration, prayer ministry and time for chatting over a cup of tea. So that parents with children can really benefit from the weekend, there is a full programme of activities for all young people from Reception age upwards plus a warm, welcoming crèche for the younger children.

Children and Youth Streams

For older children and young people we have streams led by enthusiastic young adults experienced in working alongside this age group and are familiar with the issues they live with.

  • Crèche for children under reception age
  • Little Fishes for reception to year 2
  • Brightlights for years 3 and 4
  • Living Waters for years 5 and 6
  • Ignite for years 7 and 8
  • Chosen for years 9 to 10
  • Revelation for years 11 to 13

At the closing Mass the streams will lead the conference in helping us all to reflect on the readings and they will lead us in prayer and worship. Parents can relax, knowing that their children will be enjoying their streams.

Children in the crèche must be accompanied at all times.
