“See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)
CELEBRATE is a conference for all, young and old, open to individuals and families alike. We hope that the weekend will help you find fresh inspiration and renewal in your faith in a relaxed and friendly environment.
In this time of upheaval our faith needs nurturing. We aim to make a space in which God can be powerfully present. Experience and feedback teaches us that these weekends are a time of great blessing through:
- Inspired Teaching from top-class speakers such as David Wells and Michelle Moran.
- Thought-provoking dramas from RISE & and awe-inspiring Worship led by NewAwakenings.
- Creative liturgy and celebration of Mass daily.
- A wealth of insightful seminars and workshops on both days covering a range of topics.
- Time and space to encounter Christ’s healing touch in Adoration, Reconciliation and Prayer Ministry.
- Superb Children’s & Youth Ministry, led by experienced leaders, who will help develop the children’s relationship with the Lord through fun faith-based activities.
There is also a chapel for quiet prayer & reflection, and a marketplace brimming with resources, bibles, books, DVDs and CDs.
Mass will be celebrated on both days. As well as the planned programme there is time for relaxed chatting with friends old and new; many friendships begin and flourish at Celebrate.
Parents have a rare opportunity to ‘make space’ for themselves, as there is a full programme for all children & young people from the age of 3, plus a crèche for parents and toddlers.
CELEBRATE is for everyone: fervent or unsure, parish regulars and new enquirers - come and join us in pastures new!
If you have attended Celebrate before, we encourage you to invite someone who hasn’t, so they too can experience what you already have; there is lots to celebrate and share, so be bold and invite someone you know!
Founder member of the Sion community in Essex, ex-president of International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, and member of the Pontifical Council to the laity, Michelle Moran is an evangelist of 30 years and will be with us for the weekend. An incredible speaker and author, Michelle until very recently held office in the Vatican and will be fantastic at breaking down this year's theme.
David Wells, is an extraordinary communicator, a great friend of Celebrate and has delighted Cardiff Archdiocese teachers and clergy in recent months. He is known for his ability to present deep truths of faith in a very human context. A leader of adult catechesis in Plymouth Diocese for 16 years, his current role is to assist schools in their contribution to the New Evangelisation. David is also the author of two books, The Reluctant Disciple and The Grateful Disciple.
Sue, along with Charles her husband, is responsible for the inception of the Celebrate conference at Ilfracombe. She deals with all the administration of the Celebrate in Devon as well as using these talents for many other conferences such as the Harvesters Weekend at Woldingham and other interdenominational conferences. Her main task is the support she gives to her very busy husband.

Creative Liturgy, Worship and Drama
Worship at Celebrate Bristol is a fundamental part of our time together. We are fortunate to have locals Simon Gibbs and Emma McMillan with us again to lead us in Worship through the weekend.
We will also be energised and inspired by RISE theatre, a professional Christian theatre company with a passion for delivering exciting, original, transformative theatre. They work in schools, churches, events and festivals across the UK with the aim of inspiring people of all ages to realise their full potential in life. RISE are currently touring a powerful play about Blessed Oscar Romero, entitled Romero: Heartbeat of El Salvador
