Who were our 2018 Speakers?

Marie Beirne.png

Marie Beirne

From Ireland, Marie is an internationally renowned and inspirational speaker who has given many talks to church groups, conferences, as well as groups of priests, religious and lay people. She was the leader of Charismatic Renewal in Ireland for many years. She has a passion for the Lord and what he is doing particularly among the lay faithful and in working with our brothers and sisters in Christ from other denominations.

A frequent visitor to Scotland, Marie is delighted to be able to come and speak to us this weekend.

Colin Symes.png

Colin Symes

Colin is one of the leaders of Community Church Edinburgh, which has developed from the house-church renewal movements of the 1970s. From a Protestant background, Colin has been working closely with other Christian traditions since the eighties. In particular, he has formed strong links with Roman Catholic Renewal in Eastern Europe, in Poland and Slovakia.  He is part of the RELaY Europe Network team, which brings believers together from across Europe.  Colin was one of the speakers at CCR Scotland’s Golden Jubilee Conference last March who touched many hearts with his powerful talk. We’re delighted he can join us on the Sunday.

Children’s and Youth Streams

Our school age children and young people all join a ‘stream’ appropriate to their own age group (the year groups are as at date of the Conference).

  • Little Stars Crèche (Age 0-4) - A room near the main hall for parents with pre-school children with main hall video link. There will be play resources and materials for them. Children must be supervised by parents.

  • Little Fishes - Primary 1-3

  • Bright Lights - Primary 4-5

  • New Creations - Primary 6-7

  • Living Waters - S1 - S4

  • Ignite - S5 - 22 yrs)

The whole conference is together for the daily Celebration of the Eucharist. For most of the conference, the streams each follow their own programmes led by PVG accredited adult leaders. Here the young people follow the same conference theme but in a way that will engage their different needs. Our young people are guided through an exploration of their faith in a way that brings them into closer relationship with one another and with God. To ensure correct safeguarding procedures are followed each stream will be limited to 25 and any special needs must be clearly stated on the booking form. It is essential that you book early if you want to be assured of a place and certainly no later than September 1st.

All school age children/young people must have a designated fee-paying adult present at the conference.
